It seems a close contest will be on cards in the elections to be held for the South Indian Artistes Association (Nadigar Sangam) on June 23.
While Nassar, Ponvannan, Vishal and Karthi will reportedly once again contest for president, vice-president, general secretary and treasurer posts, respectively, there will be tough contenders from the other side, it is said.
Popular educationist, actor and producer Ishari Ganesh will contest for Nadigar Sangam general secretary post, sources said and added that he is expected to give a tough fight to Vishal and team.
While Vishal & Co emerged victorious with huge support from actors during the last elections, they soon earned the wrath of a section of actors and producers, it may be recalled.
Vishal, who was the president of Tamil Film Producers Council, also faced protest in that association, following which the government has appointed a special officer to manage the affairs of TFPC.
