Superstar Rajinikanth, who was shooting in Mumbai for the past few weeks for his upcoming magnum opus ‘Darbar’, returned to Chennai late last night on a short break.
At the airport, reporters asked him about the recent controversial comment of Makkal Needhi Maiam founder-president Kamal Haasan, who had said at an election campaign that ‘free India’s first terrorist was a Hindu’.
“I don’t want to talk about this,” was the reply from the ‘thalaivar’, who is set to float his own political party ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
‘Darbar’, tipped to be a police story, is being directed by A R Murugadoss and produced by Lyca. Music for the movie is by Anirudh Ravichander. Nayanthara is the heroine, while Nivetha Thomas plays a key role.
The movie, which is being made on a big budget, is slated to hit the screens for Pongal 2020.
