‘Mom’, the last film of Sridevi who died in Dubai last year, has hit the screens in China. The movie’s story revolves around a mother who seeks revenge on the guys who sexually assaulted her daughter.
Her husband and producer Boney Kapoor posted: “Mom releases in China today. An emotional moment for me. Thank you @ZeeStudios_ for spreading Sri’s last film to such wider audiences. I hope people will connect with the film there too. @SrideviBKapoor @MomTheMovie.”
Directed by Ravi Udyawar, ‘Mom’ has Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Akshaye Khanna, Sajal Ali and Adnan Siddiqui in key roles, besides Sridevi. It is her 300th film.
Music for the film has been composed and produced by A R Rahman. The film was released on 7 July 2017, in four languages, and became a critical and commercial success, grossing Rs 65 crore worldwide.
Sridevi was highly lauded for her performance in the film with the movie receiving two awards at the 65th National Film Awards : Best Actress for Sridevi, marking the first posthumous win in the category and Best Background Score for A R Rahman.
