Actor-producer Vishal has moved the Madras High Court against the Tamil Nadu government’s decision to appoint a Special Officer to manage the affairs of the Tamil Film Producers Council.
With the government naming N Sekar, District Registrar (Admin & AIG Cadre), Central Chennai, as the Special Officer of the Council which was till now managed by a set of office-bearers led by Vishal, he has filed the petition in the HC. The Court is expected to hear it on Tuesday.
It is to be noted that a section of producers are discontent with the leadership of Vishal. Late in 2018, they demanded that Vishal resign immediately, give an explanation to the numerous allegations against him and announce elections again.
The rebel team had even locked and sealed the TFPC office and Vishal was arrested for breaking open the seal. At this juncture, Sekar has been nominated to manage council affairs.
Reports stated that the appointment has come at a time when the Inspector General of Registration found discrepancies in the manner that TFPC office bearers were conducting duties.
