Another dog movie is here in the form of ‘Watchman’, directed by Vijay with music composer-turned-actor G V Prakash Kumar playing the lead role.
The flick talks about a young watchman who gets caught in tricky situation and he how comes out of it. Good in parts, Watchman is a great story that fails to work fully because of its screenplay.
A young watchman (G V Prakash Kumar) is in love with a girl (Samyuktha Hegde). All of a sudden, her parents visit him and fix their engagement date.
The protagonist is in a struggle to settle his debts and hatches a plan to steal from a bungalow. As he attempts to enter the place, a dog poses him hurdle.
Actually, the dog is seeking his help to save its master, who is being chased by terrorists. But the watchman fails to understand what the dog wants to convey.
The rest is all about whether he understands the dog’s message or not, whether its master is saved and whether the watchman is able to repay his credits and settles with his ladylove.
GV Prakash, who is an acting machine, has delivered yet another film in a short span. Equally on a batting spree is director Vijay who is dishing out movie after movie.
In Watchman, the story is gripping, but the screenplay and presentation are not. But the highlights include its crisp running time, music, cinematography and technical aspects.
