Singer-activist Chinmayi Sripaada, who spearheaded the #MeToo movement, has appreciated actress-politician Khushbu Sundar for slapping a man who misbehaved with her during an election meeting in Bengaluru.
“I applaud Khushboo ma’am bravery. But expecting young girls to have the same physical strength, conviction to slap a man back is unrealistic,” she said.
Chinmayi, who had made shocking sexual allegations against lyricist Vairamuthu, added: “‘You should have slapped him’ can be OK where men dont throw acid on the faces of women who say NO.”
In another tweet, she said, “If I could profile all the men and some women who insulted, shamed me in the past 6 months JUST because I named Mr Vairamuthu – they would all slot under one heading. And these were the people who pretended to care about the Pollachi case. #TheyAreAllTheSame”.
