Thrills & Spills
Uchchakattam Review by Naveen
|Making thriller movies in a single language itself is not an ordinary task. But, director Sunil Kumar Desai has made ‘Uchchakattam’ in four languages- Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.|
The film, with many stunt sequences coupled with twists and turns, turns out to be an interesting mystery movie with a few flaws.
A young pair (Anup Singh and Sai Dhanshika) go to a party to celebrate New Year. There, Anup misses his mobile and starts searching for it.
In the meantime, Dhanshika shoots the New Year party and also captures on the lens a murder which happens there. Those who committed the crime come to know about it.
The baddies give many troubles to the couple. How they escape from it and what is the reason behind the murder is what Uchchakattam all about.
Sai Dhanshika, the performer that she is, has proved it once again. Anup Singh is adequate, while the rest of the cast, which includes the likes of Tanya Hope, Harshika Poonacha, Kishore and Duhan Singh, have done justice.
While Kempraju has taken care of editing department, K M Vishnuvardhan and Rajan have performed cinematography. Both are good. Music by Sanjay Chowdary maintains the momentum.
There are logical loopholes and some cliched scenes. But still, ‘Uchchakattam’ is a thrilling subject which impresses in parts.
