Simbu-Venkat Prabhu’s ‘Maanadu’ dropped?

Producer Suresh Kamatchi has refuted reports in few sections of the media which claimed that Simbu aka STR-starrer ‘Maanadu’, which is to be helmed by Venkat Prabhu, had been dropped.

“Request to stop the Rumours that the movie is been dropped.  It is not that easy to start a movie as u stop it by your silly Rumour,” the producer said in a tweet.

He added: “We are very clear that #Maanadu is on. Discussions and pre-production is on full swing. Details about the movie and schedule to be revealed soon.”

Last month, greeting Simbu on his birthday, the ‘Chennai 28’ and Mankatha maker said, “A very happy birthday to a friend!! A brother!!! A good hearted human being!! #str #simbu #maanaadu will be a milestone in our careers!!! God bless #hbdstr.”

Besides ‘Maanaadu’, Simbu has in his kitty three films with director-politician Seeman and Mani Ratnam’s adaptation of Kalki’s legendary novel ‘Ponniyin Selvan’. He is also said to be playing a key role in Kamal Haasan’s ‘Indian 2’ directed by Shankar.
