Actress Vijayalakshmi, who was recently suffering from an illness, has lodged a sexual harassment complaint against Kannada actor Raviprakash.
The complaint was filed on Vijayalakshmi’s behalf by her sister Usha Rani. In the complaint with the Puttenahalli police station, Bangalore, it was alleged that the actor was allegedly harassing Vijayalakshmi after providing financial assistance for her treatment. The complainant said he has harassed through text messages.
Reacting to this, Raviprakash siad, “It’s a known fact that Vijayalakshmi has asked for the financial help to her treatment. On the humanitarian basis I appealed her and gave her 1 Lakh. When I called her she didn’t receive the call, so, I messaged.”
Vijayalakshmi was recently admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of a private hospital in Bengaluru. She was suffering from high blood pressure, and her sister, Usha Devi, had made an appeal to the film industry asking for financial help for Vijayalakshmi.
Vijayalakshmi was born in an Iyengar family in Chennai and did her studies in Tamil Nadu. She acted in nearly 40 films in her career. She has acted in nearly 25 Kannada films.
During her stint as an actress, she was recognized for her beauty and performance. She debuted in ace director T S Nagabharana’s film ‘Nagamandala’. The first film of Vijayalakshmi was Nagamandala, based on a folk tale, opposite Prakash Raj.
After a gap, she returned to the Tamil film industry again with the comedy film ‘Boss Engira Bhaskaran’, which became one of 2010’s biggest successes. In Telugu, she was recognized in the film ‘Hanuman Junction’. She has also acted in one Malayalam film with Mohanlal ‘Devadoothan’ and Tamil television serials.
