Complaints are pouring in against Oviya and the makers of her recent movie ’90 ML’. After Indian National League’s Tamil Nadu women state wing’s Chief Aarifa, Tamilnadu Kalachara Paathukapu Peravai has lodged a complaint at the Greater Chennai Commissioner’s Office against the actress.
Alleging that the movie was vulgar and supported the use of substance abuse, the complaint said the film also had intimate scenes and offensive dialogues and that the actress and director must be arrested.
In her complaint earlier, Aarifa said Oviya and ’90 ML’ director Anita Udeep had degraded Tamil culture. Right from the release of its teaser, the film had kicked up controversies.
Producer G Dhananjayan tweeted: “Hope & wish Dir. @anitaudeep & Producer @UdeepB watch this honest review by Dr.Abhilasha on how your film #90ML can be detrimental to our society. Please have some responsibility towards the society & don’t spread venom among our youngsters to make money.”
Archana Kalpathi of AGS Entertainment said, “Cinema is about creativity and experimenting with various genres. As producers we know the effort that goes into making one, So let us only pass on positive thoughts and wishes to other movie makers and content #JustSaying 90 ml is making waves at the BO.”
