A complaint has been filed with the Greater Chennai Police Commissioner’s office against Oviya and director Anitha Udeep for their recent venture ’90 ML’.
The complaint was lodged by Indian National League’s Tamil Nadu women state wing’s chief Aarifa who said, “the film promotes alcoholism among women and the core story would wrongly guide young girls to smoke, drink, use swearing words and discuss sex.”
She also wanted the police to arrest Oviya and Anitha. Already, the film has kicked up controversies. Producer G Dhananjayan tweeted: “Hope & wish Dir. @anitaudeep & Producer @UdeepB watch this honest review by Dr.Abhilasha on how your film #90ML can be detrimental to our society. Please have some responsibility towards the society & don’t spread venom among our youngsters to make money.”
Archana Kalpathi of AGS Entertainment said, “Cinema is about creativity and experimenting with various genres. As producers we know the effort that goes into making one, So let us only pass on positive thoughts and wishes to other movie makers and content #JustSaying 90 ml is making waves at the BO.”
