Sunday (February 24) was the birth anniversary of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa. While it was announced that the biopic on her directed by Vijay has been titled ‘Thalaivi’, it was revealed that another biopic titled ‘The Iron Lady’, helmed by A Priyadarshini, will hit the screens on February 20, 2020.
Vijay said, “We have locked the final draft, and are now working on finalising the cast and technicians. While Vijayendra Prasad sir came on board a few months ago, we have roped in cinematographer Nirav Shah, GV Prakash and Selva master as well. The film will sketch the life of one of the most wonderful leaders, and so, we are making it a Tamil-Hindi bilingual.”
Priyadarshini tweeted: “#OFFICIAL #THEIRONLADY #JJayalalithaabiopic to hit screens on worldwide “20-2-2020″ #Amma2020.” The film has Nithya Menen playing the role of Jayalalithaa.
While the name of Bharathiraja is already doing the rounds for another biopic on Jayalalithaa, the name of Lingusamy was recently proposed by none other than Jeyananth Dhivakaran, nephew of TTV Dhinakaran and son of Sasikala’s brother Dhivakaran.
