Just weeks after he assumed charge as the vice-president of Tamil Film Producers Council, R Parthiepan resigned from the post on Friday, sending shock waves among members and office-bearers of TFPC.
His resignation has come just a day before the Ilayaraja-75 event, a grand programme by the Producers Council to honour the music maestro.
According to sources, Parthiepan decided to quit from the TFPC post since he was not happy with some of the developments.
During the last week of December, TFPC president Vishal announced that Parthiepan was elected as the new vice-president of TFPC and he replaced Gautham Vasudev Menon’s position in the Council.
Parthiepan’s exit has caused a fresh controversy in the TFPC, which is already caught in issues including a case against Ilayaraja 75 and a section of members expressing displeasure over the functioning of Vishal.
