While the school portions are among the biggest highlights of Vijay Sethupathi-Trisha starrer Tamil flick ’96’, it seems its Telugu version will not have them.
According to sources, director Prem Kumar, who is helming the Telugu remake as well, has incorporated some major changes to the original script and decided to replace the school scenes with college episodes.
As per the story, Samantha and Sharwanand are said to be playing collegemates of 2009 and how they reunite in 2019 after ten years forms the rest of the story.
’96’, one of the super hit movies of Tamil cinema in 2018, is a situational love-story about a travel-photographer, Ramachandran, who gets nostalgic on rewinding the memories of his childhood sweetheart, Janaki Devi, during a reunion ceremony with his school classmates.
The film was written and directed by C Prem Kumar and produced by S Nanthagopal for Madras Enterprises, the music for the film was composed by Govind Vasantha, Mahendiran Jayaraju and N. Shanmuga Sundaram handled the cinematography and R Govindaraj edited the film while the costumes were designed by Subhashree Kaarthik Vijay.
