That Trisha has shared the screen space with superstar Rajinikanth in ‘Petta’ and fulfilled her longtime wish was old news. The latest is that, her character in the film was modelled on the lines of the ones played by Sridevi in the 1980s.
Since Trisha, who plays a Madurai girl named Saro, appears in flashback portions that are set in the backdrop of 1970s and 1980s, references for her dress and other things were taken from Sridevi movies of the yesteryear, sources inform.
The film directed by Karthik Subbaraj and bankrolled by Sun Pictures will hit the screens in a big way on January 10, ahead of Pongal. Expectations are running high and ticket bookings are taking place on a massive scale.
Anirudh Ravichander has scored music for ‘Petta’ and all songs from the movie’s album have gone on to become chartbusters. Vijay Sethupathi, Trisha, Sasikumar, Bobby Simha and Nawazudeen Siddiqui have played key roles in this flick.
