A Hindu outfit has filed a police complaint against Hansika alleging that the actress has hurt the sentiments of Hindus with the poster of her upcoming film ‘Maha’.
Pointing out to the first look poster, which featured Hansika wearing sanyasi’s dress and smoking, the complaint by Hindu Makkal Munnani said the actress has insulted Hindusim.
Recently, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national secretary H Raja, known for spitting fire at Vijay’s ‘Mersal’ for criticising the Central government, hit out at the team of Hansika’s 50th movie ‘Maha’ for the controversial poster.
Slamming the movie’s director U R Jameel, Raja said, “Your movie #Maha poster shows Hindu’s in bad light. I dare @dir_URJameel to show your unique side with the religion your practice why not a burqua cald women smoking with a backdrop of your holy shrine I dare you to do it.”
Reacting to the controversy, Jameel said, “believe in humanity n not in Hindu-muslim, so pls dont create caste and religion angle.” Earlier, the director clarified by saying that people should only see Hansika smoking cigar as the characterization of the actress in the film.
