In a huge victory for Tamil Film Producers Council president Vishal, the Madras High Court on Friday ordered to de-seal the TNFPC office and condemned the police action against the actor-producer.
The HC order came a day after Vishal was detained by the police for trying to break open the locked TFPC office, which was locked by a set of producers who are against him.
Issuing the order after hearing Vishal’s petition, the court also rebuked the Chennai police for detaining him without reason and asked on what grounds did they prevent an elected member from entering his own council office. Justice Anandha Venkatesan who passed the order also directed that all original documents including account books have to be submitted to the Deputy Registrar and the two sides can retain copies of the document.
The court observed that the solution to this issue should have been done in a legal manner. Welcoming the verdict, Kamal Haasan tweeted: “Thanks again to the court for rendering justice to comrade Vishal.”
