It was a day filled with action at Tamil Film Producers Council, after its president Vishal, along with his supporters, attempted to break open the office building of TFPC that was locked by a section of ‘unhappy’ producers on Wednesday.
The actor-producer was stopped from going ahead by police personnel posted there. Following this, he had an argument with the cops and was detained. He was released later in the day.
Vishal tweeted: “Police who were mute yesterday wen unauthorised ppl locked the doors & gates of TFPC have arrested me & my colleague today for no fault of ours, absolutely unbelievable.”
He added: “We will fight back, wil do everything to conduct Ilayaraja sir event & raise funds to help Producers in distress.”
Meanwhile, those who are unhappy with Vishal called on Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and urged him take steps to set things right at the Council. Police security has been provided to the T Nagar and Anna Salai offices of TFPC.
Making a shocking allegation against Vishal, producer AL Azhagappan said, “I am hearing reports that Vishal is involved in a lot of criminal activities. A few say that he also has a share in the piracy website Tamilrockers.”
However, sources close to Vishal have denied all these charges and said he was only working for the betterment of producers and actors.
