Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national secretary H Raja, known for spitting fire at Vijay’s ‘Mersal’ for criticising the Central government, has now hit out at the team of Hansika’s 50th movie ‘Maha’, after the film’s first look poster showed the actress smoking in the attire of a saint.
Slamming the movie’s director U R Jameel, Raja said, “Your movie #Maha poster shows Hindu’s in bad light. I dare @dir_URJameel to show your unique side with the religion your practice why not a burqua cald women smoking with a backdrop of your holy shrine I dare you to do it.”
Reacting to the controversy, Jameel said, “believe in humanity n not in Hindu-muslim, so pls dont create caste and religion angle.”
Earlier, the director clarified by saying that people should only see Hansika smoking cigar as the characterization of the actress in the film.
Talking about ‘Maha’ recently, Hansika said, “I am equally excited and scared because everything in the film is on my shoulders.”
She said further: “When director Jameel approached me with the script, I asked him whether he really wanted to do the film but he told me that I am his one and only choice.”
