Superstar Rajinikanth’s ‘2.0’ directed by Shankar today witnessed bumper opening across India. The film has been released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
While fans celebrated the film’s release like a festival in Tamil Nadu, those in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana too welcomed the movie. In Chennai and other parts of TN, special shows were screened from as early as 4 am.
It appears that the movie would shatter all earlier box-office records created by Indian flicks. Produced by Subaskaran of Lyca, the film has music composed by Oscar-Grammy winner A R Rahman.
Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson have played key roles in this flick, which is a sequel to 2010 blockbuster ‘Enthiran’ aka ‘Robot’.
In an event to promote the film in Hyderabad, Rajini said, “After my debut film, ‘Apoorva Raagangal’, I am excited and nervous about ‘2.0’ because, in this film, almost 40-45% is filled with visual effects and being an actor, I’m eagerly looking forward to watching my own work”.
