Sunny Leone, who made her debut in Kollywood with a special song in Jai-starrer ‘Vadacurry’, is now acting in ‘Veeramadevi’, a film being made in multiple languages including Tamil and Telugu.
In the meantime, she is all set for her debut in Mollywood. Her maiden Malayalam film has been titled ‘Rangeela’ and it will be directed by ‘Money Rathnam’-fame Santosh Nair.
Jayalal Menon is producing the movie under the banner of Backwater Studios in collaboration with Fairytale Productions.
Recently, a petition against Sunny Leone-starrer ‘Veeramadevi’ was withdrawn from the court. The film was facing protests from fringe groups for casting Sunny Leone in the lead role as a warrior queen, since she was once a porn star.
Justices MM Sundaresh and Sathish Kumar said that actors can play any role they deem fit and questioned the point behind such a petition. The court later allowed the petitioner to withdraw the case.
Following this, the film’s producer Steeve Corner tweeted, “We will face anything. The case was filed to request the ban of the film Veeramadevi. And a group of useless people, who do not understand the pain that producer who put their money on films go through.”
