Tamil film industry stands divided over ‘Sarkar’ story lifting issue, so to speak. With some offering support to Varun Rajendran, who had claimed that the story of ‘Sarkar’ is similar to his ‘Sengol’, some others back director A R Murugadoss in this issue.
Varalakshmi Sarathkumar, who has played a key role in ‘Sarkar’, tweeted: “I stand with my director @ARMurugadoss sir..the truth shall always wins..time will tell..”
Writer B Jeyamohan, explaining about how the story of ‘Sarkar’ was created said in an interview to Puthiyathalaimurai that Murugadoss approached him with a three-line story based on the premise counterfeit voting or voter impersonation.
He said that a team comprising himself, Murugadoss and his four assistants had camped in a hotel for nearly 42 days to create ‘Sarkar’ scene-by-scene.
