A couple of days after it published a strong article hitting out at superstar Rajinikanth and his political plans, DMK mouthpiece ‘Murasoli’ on Sunday expressed regret over it.
In a corrigendum, it said it came to know that some good hearts were hurt over the article and the editorial board has been advised not to publish such stuff in the future.
This follows strong backlash from Rajini fans and critics who said that the DMK was clearly afraid of the superstar’s political entry.
In a first-ever full-fledged attack on Rajinikanth, the DMK’s mouthpiece Murasoli said on Friday that the superstar has been cheating his ‘innocent fans’.
In a big article titled ‘Who is the blacksheep? Meh..Meh..Meh…’, the newspaper questioned Rajinikanth on his recent statement about Rajini Makkal Mandram (RMM), a pre-cursor forum to his political party.
It said if the actor was not really behind posts as claimed by him, he should have then started a movement on the lines of rationalist leader E V Ramasamy.
“Dear leader, if your assertion that posts was not a consideration in your political entry, why did you announce that the party will contest from all 234 Assembly seats in the next polls,” it said in the name of an “innocent fan” of the star.
