A lot is happening over Vijay’s much awaited ‘Sarkar’. On Thursday, while hearing a plagiarism petition from writer and assistant director Varun Rajendran, the Madras High Court ordered the film’s director A R Murugadoss and producers Sun Pictures to file their response by October 30.
Varun Rajendran had filed a complaint against the film with the Writers’ Union and the Madras High Court, stating that Murugadoss had lifted his story titled ‘Sengol’ and made it as ‘Sarkar’.
Meanwhile, Sun Pictures has filed a caveat petition to avoid last-minute complications which might end up stalling the film.
The petition means that anybody who is planning to file a case against ‘Sarkar’ should seek the opinion of the production house before they can approach the court.
In the meantime, the film has cleared the Censor process with U/A certificate for its stunt sequences. Sun Pictures has also confirmed that ‘Sarkar’ would hit the screens on November 6 for Deepavali.
The film, tipped to be a political thriller, has music by Oscar-Grammy winner A R Rahman. Keerthy Suresh and Varalakshmi Sarathkumar are the leading ladies.
