Vishal forms committee to protect safety of women in Kollywood

Following a series of sexual allegations made under the hash tag #MeToo, Tamil Film Producers Council president and Nadigar Sangam general secretary Vishal has said a committee will soon be formed to ensure the safety of women in cinema industry.
In a tweet, the actor-producer said, “it’s time, Women in our industry speak up & I wil stand by them. Wil form a committee to protect them.”
He added: “I totally respect @Chinmayi #TanuShreDuta & others. Women should inform us as soon as such incidents happen. @Amala_ams informed 1 such incident & we helped her. #MeToo #TimesUp.”
He was talking about Amala Paul, who had accused an entrepreneur of misbehaving with her. In the recent past, several women, including singer Chinmayi Sripaada, have accused Vairamuthu, Radharavi and others of sexual harassment.
Not just in Kollywood, but similar allegations were also made in Bollywood and in the media industry too.
