Rajini playing army officer in ‘Petta’

Stills released from the sets of Rajinikanth’s ‘Petta’ in Lucknow suggest that the superstar is playing an army officer in the movie directed by Karthik Subbaraj and produced by Sun Pictures.
If one is to go by what sources say, Rajini, who is an army officer, retires from service due to some unavoidable reasons and joins a college as its hostel warden. “How he sets right things there forms the crux of the story”, sources add.
The first look motion poster of the movie was released on Friday and it went on to become a huge hit. ‘Petta’ has been making waves ever since it was announced.
The first look, powered by a massy BGM from Anirudh Ravichander, features a stylish Rajni entering a church with a candelabra as weapon of choice.
Following the legendary grin, we see the Superstar in action with the weapon. The movie directed by Karthik Subbaraj has Vijay Sethupathi, Nawazuddin Siddique, Simran, Trisha and Bobby Simha among others in key roles.
