Tamil cinema’s most popular comedy pair Goundamani and Senthil will be back to tickle the funny bone of the audience, in Kamal Haasan’s ‘Indian 2’ to be directed by Shankar.
“Shankar is keen about retaining some key members from the first part. Besides Goundamani and Senthil, Nedumudi Venu (who played CBI officer) and Sukanya (senior Kamal’s wife) will also be part of the cast of Indian 2,” sources said.
While Lyca Productions will bankroll the movie, Anirudh Ravichander will be composing the music and Ravi Varman has been roped in to crank the camera. Shooting is expected to commence in December 2018.
Kamal is said to be playing a dual role in this sequel to ‘Indian’ and he will be seen reprising the role of Senapathi, a freedom fighter who escaped from the clutches of the police in the first part.
‘Indian’ is a 1996 Tamil vigilante film written and directed by Shankar and produced by A M Rathnam. The film stars Kamal Haasan in dual roles with Manisha Koirala, Urmila Matondkar, Sukanya and Goundamani appearing in other pivotal roles. The film’s score and soundtrack are composed by A R Rahman, while cinematography was handled by Jeeva.
