Top Tamil film stars on Sunday came together to stage a protest in Chennai for the formation of a Cauvery Management Board (CMB).
Superstar Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Vijay, Nasser, Vishal and Ilaiyaraaja were present on stage at Nungambakkam, along with others.
Though it was a silent protest, there were speeches by a few. Nasser in his address said Cauvery Board is a right of Tamil Nadu and the Centre should form it. Sathyaraj said he would not be afraid even if the army comes and would continue to fight for Cauvery.
The protest organised by the South Indian Film Artistes Association, popularly known as Nadigar Sangam, saw the participation of members of Tamil Film Producers Council and Film Employees Federation of South India.
It is to be noted that Tamil Nadu has moved a contempt plea in the Supreme Court, seeking action against the Centre for allegedly failing to form the Cauvery Management Board within six weeks as ordered by the court on February 16.
