Bollywood top star Shah Rukh Khan, who had played a key role in Kamal Haasan’s ‘Hey Ram’, is owning the Hindi remake rights of the film.
This was revealed by Kamal himself, who said that Shah Rukh only got a wristwatch as remuneration for acting in ‘Hey Ram’ but the actor has bought the Hindi remake rights of the film.
It is learnt that Khan is planning to start work on the Hindi remake. However, it remains to be seen who will be the cast members and who will wield the megaphone.
‘Hey Ram’ is a 2000 Indian historical fiction-political thriller film. The movie was written, directed and produced by Kamal Haasan, who also acted as the protagonist in the film.
The film’s soundtrack and background score were composed by Ilaiyaraaja. The semi-fictional plot centers on India’s partition and the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi by Nathuram Godse.
