Vice President of India M Venkaiah Naidu launched the biopic of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP founder NT Rama Rao in Hyderabad on Thursday.
In his address, Naidu said, “I was very happy to receive an invite from actor-politician Nandamuri Balakrishna and assured him that I will visit no matter how busy I am. Anyway, Parliament is not functioning even though it’s working. Everyone knows that. However, that is another issue.”
Balakrishna plays the role of NTR in the film and the actor was dressed up as Duryodhana for the symbolic ‘Muhurtham shot’.
Venkaiah added: “NTR had changed the face of Telugu cinema and put the interest of all Telugus in his heart when he took the plunge into politics. He was the one who gave recognition to the Telugu community at the national stage and he will always be an icon for us. Though normally, Presidents or Vice Presidents don’t attend film events, I decided to come because of the respect I have for NTR. I also believe that cinema is a powerful medium and can truly honour his life and I wish his son Balakrishna the very best in his endeavour.”
An actor was dressed up like MGR, matinee idol and late chief minister of Tamil Nadu, who was a good friend of NTR.
