Close on the heels of launching his party Makkal Needhi Maiam, Kamal Haasan conducted his first public meeting in Chennai on Wednesday night, to markt he International Women’s Day.
The actor-turned-politician started his day by addressing students at an engineering college on the outskirts of the city.
Extending his Women’s Day greetings, he said, “I do not think that it is just this day. We have to celebrate it for 365 days. (Women) you just have to stand by me. We all should join hands to bring together a change”.
Stating that politics would change lives, he said this doesn’t mean that every student must become a politician.
“The question is, whether you are going to develop awareness about politics or not. The students of my generation failed in that regard, which is the reason for the current state of politics in the State,” he added.
