Rana Daggubati, who is stepping into Mollywood with a film titled ‘Anizham Thirunal Marthanda Varma’, directed by K Madhu, has started working on the project.
The ‘Baahubali’ actor commenced his work in the film by visiting the renowned Sri Anantha Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram. He also met the royal family.
According to sources, the actor has been visiting various places in Kerala to get know about the nuances of the character.
While Robin Thirumala is the scenarist, Peter Hein will take care of action sequences and Oscar winner Resul Pookkutty is the sound designer.
It may be recalled that Anizham Thirunal Marthanda Varma was the ruler of Travancore from 1729 till 1758. He is known for fighting against the Dutch expansion at the Battle of Kolachel in 1741 and defeating them.
For the period flick, Rana would undergo a strict fitness regime, it is learnt.
